The progress made in anti-ageing therapy has allowed us to age more gracefully.

Botulinum injections

Botulinum injections (also known as anti-wrinkle injections) are used for the management of lines and wrinkles of the face that are related to pleating of the skin overlying the facial muscles of expression. There are however many more medical therapeutic uses of Botulinum toxins.
The upper facial area benefits greatly from Botulinum injections. After the product has been administered, the onset of the product takes between 4-14 days. One can expect the effects to last between 3-4 months.

Botulinum toxin is well established as a safe and effective strategy for upper facial lines, and is approved for varying facial regions such as:

  • The Glabellar lines
  • The Forehead lines
  • Crow’s feet
  • May also be utilized in the treatment of Para-functional habits such as Bruxism and Clenching.
Post Care
  • For 4 hours – do not lie down or do strenuous exercise and similar activities, nor should you do anything that increases the blood flow to the injection area.
  • For 12 hours – avoid extreme facial expressions, alcohol consumption, and applying make-up.
  • For 24 hours – do not rub or massage the treated areas as this could influence the effect of the product.
  • For 2 weeks – avoid direct sun exposure, UV light, freezing temperatures and saunas.

Soft Tissue Augmentation/Dermal fillers

Volume loss has become an important hallmark of the ageing face. When it comes to dermal fillers, volume replacement is the goal. Dermal filler injections are considered as one of the most effective treatments that smooth out wrinkles and replace facial volume in general.

With results lasting nine months to two years, hyaluronic acid is preferable for patients seeking longer results.

  • Lips, creating volume/pout and increase definition
  • Upper lip rhytides “smokers lines”
  • Nasolabial folds
  • Melomental folds “Marionette folds”
  • Cheek bones

A numbing cream is applied to the face 30 minutes prior to your cosmetic injections.

Precare – before your dermal filler treatment. One week prior to your dermal filler injection, you should avoid using alcohol, garlic, idocaine and aspirin, or any other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs for pain, swelling and/or fever, such as medicines containing diclofenac, mefenamic acid, indometacin or ibuprofen.

– ask your doctor or pharmacist whether your medication includes any of these ingredients.

Following these instructions will reduce the risk of bruising or bleeding at the point of injection.
If this is your first visit, you will need to provide your aesthetic medical doctor with information on your medical history and any current problems, as well as details thereof.
Post Care
  • Since dermal filler injectable gel is a relatively simple, non-surgical treatment, there is minimal recovery time. For the first 24 hours following treatment, you should avoid strenuous exercise, excessive sun or heat exposure, and alcoholic beverages in order to help minimise the risk of temporary redness, swelling and/or itching.

    No treatment can halt the ageing process;
You will require top-ups if you want to maintain the effect.
